My Top Seven Photos on Instagram: August 2017
My top photos for August were all taken in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. I’m excited about traveling soon, but I’m enjoying taking photographs close to home.
1- The beach at the Indiana Dunes.
When I tell people who grew up by the ocean that we have beaches in the Midwest they either tell me I'm mistaken and tell me that's impossible. I grew up in Chicago and never heard that you can only have a beach by an ocean. I just thought all a beach needed was a large body of water and sand. Well there all around Lake Michigan. I took this while I was visiting Indiana Dunes State Park. It was a nice reward after walking a couple of miles through the woods.
2 – This one was taken at the beach at The Indiana Dunes. I bet you didn’t know you can see Chicago from Indiana. I zoomed in a little but you will always recognize Willis Towers aka The Sears Tower.
3 – Water Taxi on the Chicago River
4 – The Chicago Cultural Center. It was the first Chicago Public Library.
5 – The Tiffany Dome inside the Chicago Cultural Center.
6 – The ramp inside the Chicago Cultural Center
The ramp takes you between one side of the building to the next. It's called the Passage. It was designed to break up the familiarity of the usual ramps. I think it achieved its goal. The Culture center was completed in 1897 and was Chicago's first central public library. The library was renamed the Cultural Center in 1991.
7 – The Indiana Dunes
That is all for the month of August.
If you enjoy it, pin it.
