My name is Bisa Myles from Myles to Travel. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. I’ve spent most of my adult life as a tax accountant. While living in Northwest Indiana just 20 minutes from where I grew up except the three years, I used to live in New York City in my 30’s. With the unexpected death of my cousin, I stayed in the Midwest to raise her three young children.
After a decade of growing pains and tears (mostly mine), I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In time I am trading in my calculator for a camera to travel the world and document my journey through photography and writing.
What is Myles to Travel blog?
Myles to travel is about my second, third and fourth chance to follow my passions in life of photography and writing. I hope to inspire others to do the same. I’ve included pictures and stories from places I’ve visited before starting the blog. I will share how I prepare for my trips and how it has changed since my diagnosis.
My five-year survivorship plan from the doctors includes quarterly exams of blood work and test. Therefore I created my plan that includes passport stamps and new foods. I made a list of 50 countries I want to visit. At the time the list was created, I had already visited 9 of the 50 countries.
Meanwhile, I’m not quitting my day job just yet, but I will be traveling and sharing my experiences here. I still have miles to travel.
