27 Jan 2019 Travel Summary
2019 Travel
As I was putting together the list of all of the places I visited in 2019, I realized that I traveled a lot more than I thought. Not all travel requires a passport stamp and an airplane. It was fun going through all of my pictures and reliving the experience. I was able to check off a few things off of my survivor’s list.
The list is by order of events.
Wisconsin
I drove 2 hours to see the Ice Castles in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I was a spontaneous trip. I didn’t have time to invite anyone. It was during the government shutdown, so it was easy for me to just jump in my car on a Thursday. My dream is to visit one of the ice hotels.
Maine
I love going to travel conferences because it allows me to visit cities that I may not have gone to otherwise. The Women in Travel Summit was in Portland, Maine. I feel in love with the lighthouses. I didn’t have a chance to see as much of the city as I would have liked, but it is a place I would visit again.
Tanzania
I had been planning to hike Mount Kilimanjaro for over a year. It was so focused on the mountain that I almost forgot about the country as a whole.
Iceland
Going to Iceland has been on my radar for a while, and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to go again. This is one of my favorite pictures at the Glacier National Park.
Nevada
My last trip of 2019 was to Las Vegas. I had visited Las Vegas once when I was in my 20’s. I wasn’t that eager to return, but I had promised to take my mother there for her 70th birthday. We did some of the typical things you do in Las Vegas, gamble, and see a show. But also did some of the strip activities drive through Red Canyon.
